School Profile

Normandale Community College was founded in 1968 and is the largest college and third largest institution in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, serving almost 15,000 students a year in for‐credit courses. Each year Normandale awards more than 1,200 degrees and certificates in more than 60 programs of study.  Our students are incredibly diverse: two‐thirds of degree‐seeking undergraduates come from underrepresented groups, 26% have parents with no prior post‐secondary education, more than 40% are low‐income, and half are students of color.

Many of our students are young: almost three‐quarters of our degree‐seeking students are under 25. 

Students can obtain an Associate’s degree at Normandale, and complete their bachelor’s or master’s degree in a variety of majors. Most graduates (54%) continue their education within 1 year of graduation.

Normandale Community College makes transferring easy with our Transfer Pathway degrees. Through Transfer Pathways, students will be able to select from more than 30 fields of study that will prepare them to complete related bachelor’s degrees at any Minnesota State university offering a degree in that field.
