Located in Winona, a scenic and welcoming community in the upper Mississippi River Valley, Winona State University is a comprehensive public university with close to 8,900 students. The oldest member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System, Winona offers 80 undergraduate, pre-professional, licensure, graduate, and doctorate programs.

Over 250 international students study in Winona. We offer a welcoming community, an extensive selection of extracurricular activities, internships, service and learning opportunities, small classes taught by professors and state of the art technology. All international students participate in the Cross Cultural program and receive a scholarship.

English Language Programs (ELP) provides English language training to international and non-native English speaking students who wish to satisfy the English language requirement for admission to Winona State University and/or to improve their English language skills while experiencing U.S. culture. ELP is an intensive English program that offers four levels of English instruction to build the skills necessary for academic success and career advancement. ELP can also customize programs for institutions that wish to send students or teachers to ELP in groups.
