The University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR) inspires transformation in higher education through innovations that empower our graduates to solve the grand health challenges of the 21st century. UMR is located in the heart of Med City near the world renowned Mayo Clinic and offers offers two baccalaureate degree programs. The first major offered at UMR is the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (BSHS), providing students with a foundational undergraduate education that allows them to pursue a wide range of careers in the health sciences field. The BSHS program includes three Early Assurance programs: Physician Assistant, Nursing and Respiratory Therapy.
The second major offered at UMR is the Bachelor of Science in Health Professions (BSHP), an education collaboration with Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences. Students in this program become skilled health care professionals in the field of radiography, sonography, echocardiography and respiratory care.
UMR’s curriculum is continually developed by health care professionals, for health care professionals, and we rely on a huge network of health experts, both here and at nearby Mayo Clinic to prepare our graduates for their careers. The campus community serves approximately 950 undergraduate and graduate students.
