The University of Minnesota Duluth is a comprehensive regional university located on the southwestern tip of Lake Superior in Duluth, MN.
UMD has a strong tradition in academics, consistently ranking among the top Midwestern regional universities in U.S. News and World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges” issue. Students can choose from 13 bachelor degrees in 74 majors, along with 24 graduate programs and four all-university Ph.D programs. UMD also cooperates significantly in the delivery of six Twin Cities-based Ph.D programs.
UMD’s campus consists of more than 50 buildings on 244 acres overlooking Lake Superior. Most UMD buildings are connected by concourses or hallways, providing easy access for students year round.
